Internal Martial Arts Research Institute

In 1993 I moved to Honolulu and opened schools in Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu, Yamabushi Ryu Shugendo, Hirai family Reiki (Hirai Shiki — the Hirai family were the last students of Usui Sensei), and Baguazhang. I also started training with Wu Xiao Shr in the Wu family Arts of Wudang, Kunlun and Tibetan kung fu, shamanism and qigong, and, the hard to acquire, Wudang Snake Bagua which is believed the original Baguazhang.

In 1995 I opened a school for Wudang Baguazhang and a school of healing drawing from Mikkyo, Hirai Shiki, Reijutsu, Jin Shin, Tibetan Bon, and Taoist medicine.

Currently, I am training closed door students, four apprentices in ancient Japanese Mikkyo healing, two lineage disciples (I am looking for one more) and of course, my daughter's training.

I also have a very enjoyable practice in Acupuncture and Tibetan Medicine, work at The Path Clinic for Women, periodically guest teach for the Remington College Massage Program, give private instruction and guidance in spiritual growth, and teach at annual seminars at the Palmetta Jujitsu Academy and Healing Center in South Carolina, Vance Inouye's branch school in Arizona, Melvin Tabilas' branch school in Los Angeles, and Hasting Albo's branch school in Texas.

Classes

Training at Dragon Gate Sanctuary

Classes are currently closed to the public.

Closed Door Students

Closed door students receive instruction at the temple classes a few days a week.

Closed Lineage Disciples

Closed lineage disciples receive private instruction, knowledge, and personal training not normally available, in addition to the weekly classes. Closed door lineage disciples have great responsibility and are chosen. This is based on intelligence, leadership, charisma, and skill as they must melt, drink, digest and emanate the lineage.

Master Mark Saito Jr.

Mark Saito is the most gifted, highly skilled and blessed Kahuna I have ever seen. I was privileged to witness his healing methods of hoʻoponopono and lomi lomi and can attest to his mastery as he draws from all his knowledge and wisdom to heal. It is immediately obvious that Mark is a very powerful man and his lineage moves with him. He is held in the highest regard by his friends and students. I share this regard as he is a great teacher and friend.

Tom Ryan’s Palmetto Jujitsu Academy

Tom Ryan is an extremely gifted teacher and martial artist and is surrounded with the most amazing people in all aspects of their lives. He is very loved and cherished by hundreds of students and I see his heart in everything he does. I look forward to visiting him and his students every year.

Master Pete Pukish

Everything about Pete Pukish is impressive. He teaches with his every action the conduct of a true and evolved warrior. Very articulate, explosive, always flowing and pragmatic. When he moves, he can turn my head from across a room. He is a treasured friend.
